Kickstart Boys

I’M THE ONE WHO PERFORMS ADVANCED SKILLS…

Kickstart athletes enjoy the challenge of learning new skills, competing, and pushing themselves to do their personal best!

Athletes train in a positive team environment where coaches support them in being the best they can be: tailoring routines to showcase their strengths, working on their weaknesses, and building confidence and goal-setting skills. Every class includes at least half an hour of conditioning and strengthening to help the gymnasts achieve a high degree of fitness.

Kickstart athletes may choose to compete at an interclub level at the KGTC Invitational in March.  The boys will learn a routine in each of the men’s events: floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar. This program can be a bridge to our Competitive Program.

When do I register?

  • Program training sessions are September to June.
  • Summer training is a recommended option.
  • Registration is accepted in a first-come, first-served basis.

What to bring to each session: We want athletes to have fun while they learn in a safe and secure environment.

They should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move easily. Shorts and t-shirts are great – just ensure that clothes are not too baggy as it may become a danger or too tight to be restrictive. Long hair should be tied back and socks and shoes removed. Jewellery or other items that might cause scratching or become caught in materials should be removed.

KGTC has leotards and shorts available for purchase in the Athlete Boutique.

Food and Drink: A water bottle is permitted. No food or juices are permitted unless for medical reasons.

Class info:

  • 2 hours, one or twice a week.
